NOGGARTS
Element - Fire
Elemental Traits - Destruction and Cunning
Abilities - Aura of Chaos, Numerous
Elemental Affinity - Tier 2
Noggarts are known far and wide as the “Agents of Entropy.” These aren’t your typical agents. They aren’t like talent agents or secret agents. It just means that all sorts of things have a habit of breaking whenever a Noggart is present. And the more Noggarts there are in an area, the faster things break.
A certain amount of this destruction is vandalism on the part of the mischievous imps, but most of the breakage is the result of accidents. Whenever a Noggart is present, there is an increased probability that an accident will happen. The Noggarts have no control over this innate ability. Their “Aura of Chaos” is always on and affects their lives in a variety of ways.
Noggarts are shunned by other battlementals. Even their fellow Fire battlementals don’t want anything to do with them. Let’s face it; no one wants to have their possessions falling apart right before their eyes. And because accidents happen whenever the Noggarts try to do anything constructive, they end up living in shabby and uncomfortable homes. Meals never turn out the way they should so Noggarts rarely enjoy the luxurious pleasure of fine foods. Basically, Noggarts lead a wretched life.
The only time the Aura of Chaos is an advantage is on the battlefield. Noggarts are poor fighters, but they are accustomed to the bad luck that plagues them. They have learned to take advantage of their opponent’s misfortunes. These small, walking-jinx-plagues are only brave in large numbers or in the presence of a Noggart Lord.
Since their skills lend themselves primarily to battle, the Noggarts hire on with anyone willing to pay them. Or even anyone just willing to put up with them. In either case, they hire out cheaply and are numerous.
The Aura of Chaos doesn’t directly affect the Noggarts. Given enough time, it will eventually ruin anything around them. Even though their intelligence is low, a keen sense of cunning has arisen from having their best plans constantly ruined because of their field of chaos. It is both sad and comical to see a clever Noggart in action. A great deal of planning will go into one of their ideas. It starts out as planned then one mistake after another plagues the project until if finally ends in disaster.
