In ancient times, people sat around campfires telling stories in order to teach important lessons to other members of the tribe.

C. A. S. T.
C.A.S.T. stands for Crew of Amazing StoryTellers. It is a program intended for youth (12-18) to teach them the skills of storytelling and provide them a place where they can practice those skills with other young storytellers.
Each month, the Story Man will discuss an element of storytelling and invite CAST members to participate in a story excercise based on the lesson. |
Storytelling
|
Stories contain amazing power. You can change the world by telling your story. And the best part of it is you don't have to be an adult to be a great storyteller. You just have to know how to tell a story. Storytelling is a skill that you can learn.
If you think that storytelling means writing a short story, novel, or screenplay then you are partially correct. But storytelling involves much more than just writing. You are telling a story (or have the potential to be telling a story) whenever you create a video for YouTube. Or post a picture and comments on FaceBook. Or even when you are texting your friends. Storytelling is part of our everyday lives. You. Me. All of us. And everyone can benefit from being a better storyteller. Take a few minutes and check out Randy's first batch of tips on how to start your stories better. See if that isn't something that could make your conversations with friends more interesting. |
